Welcome!
My name is Kaitlyn Campbell and I am the band director for Fisher Middle School.
This is my ninth year of teaching and I'm excited that it is here at Fisher. I graduated from Winthrop University in December 2010 with my bachelors degree in Music Education and I also just got my masters degree in Music Education from Central Washington University through the American Band College.
Ms. Campbell's musical journey began in third grade with piano lessons and continued with flute instruction in sixth grade. Throughout her middle school and high school years, her experiences continued with marching band, wind ensemble, region band, solo and ensemble, private lessons, and community youth orchestra.
After graduating from Chapman High School in 2006, she became a music education major at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC. Her middle school and high school band directors were her inspiration to pursue her love of music by becoming a music educator.
After graduating in 2010, Kaitlyn began her teaching career at Alexander Elementary School in Greenville, South Carolina. During the 2013-2014 school year she was awarded Greenville County Schools Elementary Emerging Teacher of the Year award.
After teaching elementary music for three years, Kaitlyn started teaching sixth grade band, strings, piano, and chorus at Fisher Middle School in Greenville in its inaugural year (2014-2015). Each year as the school grew to full capacity, Ms. Campbell’s responsibilities evolved and changed as the music department expanded with each grade level.
The Fisher Middle School Band participates in multiple festivals including the Carowinds Music Festival in Charlotte, North Carolina, and the South Carolina Band Directors Association Concert Performance Assessment.
Ms. Campbell just recently completed her masters degree in instrumental conducting through the American Band College from Central Washington University.
Kaitlyn currently resides in Greer, SC with her dog Cooper.
