Class Overview 

This course is designed for the serious-minded theatre student who plans to engage in further instruction in theatre, whether as a performer, scholar, designer, or technician. Students will engage in exploration of theatre practice, performance technique, theatre history and conventions, design and production, and playmaking. Through individual and group research, project-based units, collaborative practice, as well as peer and self-evaluation, students will build foundational awareness of the rigors of theatrical practice, establish a critical vocabulary, and gain a working knowledge of the tenets of the art form throughout history and in contemporary practice. Students will have out of class rehearsal and performance requirements.
