Missing, Lost, or Stolen Chromebooks and Chargers
Fountain Inn High School's Chromebook Policy
Please note that students who leave Chromebook unattended are being negligent. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure the safety of their device at all times, much as they would with their wallet/purse or other valuable items.
Students should report missing or lost Chromebooks to Mrs. Rickey or Mrs. Carlson in the Media Center from 8:15-8:45 along with a Missing Chromebook Form. If the Chromebook has been stolen the missing Chromebook form must be turned in with a police report within 48 hrs of the incident. You will have to get signatures from all of your teachers stating you have looked for the Chromebook in each class as well as get a parent signature.
Students are only Issued one charger at the beginning of the year. If the charger is lost/missing/damaged, you will be charged for a replacement and given an new charger. Students should not purchase their own replacement charger. The cost for a replacement charger is $31.
You will be issued another Chromebook after review of your case by your administrator and the School Resource Officer.
Students who do not meet the eligibility for replacement will need to pay the Chromebook replacement cost ($359.34) and, if applicable, the cost of the Chromebook charger ($31).
Chromebooks that are reported stolen will be shut-down and rendered unusable by the district.
