At the Fine Arts Center, the Wind & Brass Chamber Music program is more than just rehearsal time—it’s a laboratory for creativity, collaboration, and musical excellence. Here, students push beyond the basics to discover what it means to be a complete musician.
In this class, you will:
Master the craft — play with precision in pitch, rhythm, dynamics, articulation, and ensemble tuning.
Bring music to life — uncover the histories, styles, and traditions that shape interpretation and phrasing.
Create with purpose — use your own imagination, emotions, and ideas to shape memorable performances.
You’ll perform in solo, small ensemble, and large ensemble settings, often with music written or arranged just for you and your classmates. Along the way, you’ll strengthen skills that go far beyond the stage: originality, independent thinking, problem-solving, clear communication, and openness to new perspectives.
This isn’t just about playing the right notes—it’s about becoming the kind of musician who inspires others.
