Audition Requirements

Audition Repertoire Information for prospective students:

Students should prepare:

• A solo piece or etude on your primary instrument (the SCBDA Honor band etude is acceptable)

• scales and arpeggios (as many as you know)

• possible sight reading

• OPTIONAL- a solo or etude on an auxiliary instrument (i.e. bass trombone, bass clarinet, etc.)

• FAC Application Opens in Backpack, Visits for GCS Middle Schools Begin – October 1, 2025

• High School Visitation Day – October 28, 2025, 9:30-11:00 a.m.  Click here for more information. 

• Audition/Portfolio Workshop  – Saturday, November 22, 2025.  Click here for more information.

• January 15, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. – Final deadline for new applications. The only exceptions to this deadline are for families that move into Greenville County after the application closes. 

• January 22 – Final deadline for pre-screening materials. 

• February 4 – Notification of pre-screening results to applicants and/or communication of audition date/time to all applicants.

• February 7, 14, 21, and possibly 28 –  Audition Days – applicants will receive their specific date and time.

• March 11, 3:00 p.m. – Notification of audition results via Acceptd

• March 27, 3:00 p.m. – Deadline for students to accept their offer to the FAC
