Students will be given a class participation/behavior index card weekly or bi-weekly. Students will earn stamps for good behavior or for answering questions correctly or participating in class. A special "WHAMMY" stamp will be given for excellent or superior responses; a rare DOUBLE WHAMMY may be given! Students get very excited and competitive about the highly coveted DOUBLE WHAMMY!!! If a student earns this stamp, the student gets to play a tambourine or our class cowbell; this is the most EPIC prize, and you WILL hear all about it, trust me! The student with the most stamps at the end of the week, will receive an extra reward on Friday. Students who break class rules may be given a hole punch; the student will be asked to write the "reason" under the hole punch. This will help you in discussing what went wrong and areas for improvement. Students can "erase" a hole punch by earning two stamps. This allows for grace, which I firmly believe in practicing! Students with major behavior issues or more than 4 hole punches, will lose rewards on Friday. Major disruptions to the classroom learning environment, will result in parental contact and administrative intervention when necessary. Students may also earn silent lunch, walk at recess, or lose classroom activities in some cases. Behavior cards will be sent home in the following week's folder for parental viewing. This is a fun way to get students engaged in learning!
