Hello!
My name is Daniel Christian Hoilett. I am your School Counselor for the 2026-2027 school year! I am stepping into my 12th year serving Greenville County Schools, and my second year in the school counseling role. Previously, I have taught 2nd, 4th, and 5th grade levels. I am VERY excited and humbled to have made this pivot to supporting our students in a new way.
I was born and raised in Charlotte, NC. I graduated from Furman University in the spring of 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and an Interdisciplinary Minor in Latin American Studies. In 2019, I was a recipient of the National Council of Teachers of English Early Career Educator of Color Leadership Award. In the fall of 2020, I graduated with a Master of Arts in Literacy Education from Furman University. In the spring of 2023, I was awarded the opportunity to begin the journey towards a second masters degree in School Counseling through a full ride scholarship with Clemson University in partnership with Greenville County Schools.
Outside of the school building, you can most often find me reading, writing, running, trying a new restaraunt, visiting a new city, or supporting the arts in any way. I am a brother of the Delta Chapter of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity, a learner with Clemson University's Upstate Writing Project, an actor with various theatres across the Upstate, and a lover of the gift that is life!
Serving children has always been my first passion and is what drives me from day to day. I am truly living my dream. Through a means of bibliotherapy rich in diversity and the pursuit of all that life has to offer, as well as intentional, kid-centered creative arts and play therapy interventions, our goal of social, emotional, and academic success and confidence will be achived this year, along with a new desire to not miss school. I love what I get to do each and every day. EVERYTHING I do is for them!
