Welcome Pelham Road All Stars!! This page is a little about myself, so you can get to know me better! My name is Elizabeth Woods, I am the oldest of three and the only girl. I am very close to my two younger brothers Michael and John, and have be so blessed to have raised by two amazing parents, both of whom I think the world of! Most of my family lives here in South Carolina and we get together quite often for birthdays, game night, reunions, family dinners, and any other celebration.
I have been married for 19 years now to my wonderful husband, Nick. We have an sixteen year old son, Hampton, who loves playing baseball, his PS5, and going to the beach! We have a 1 year old Cocker Spaniel, Sully, and a 5 year old English Cocker Spaniel, Bella! Sully is sweet and a momma's boy while Bella love to play balls, keeps us busy, and is a Daddy's girl!! Both are spoiled rotten.
As far as myself...I went to the College of Charleston where I received a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education. I taught for 1 year and then went back to get my Masters in the area I loved to teach, Math and Science. After 13 months I came out with a Masters of Education in Math and Science! Those 13 months taught me the philosophy I hold today, Learning should be inquiry based; that students learn by doing and conversing. In 2018 I renewed my National Board Certification in middle childhood. This experience has helped to expand my knowledge on best practices in teaching. I know I am a better teacher and now Instructional Coach for having completed this Certification!
This is my 24th year in education WOW! How time flies! This is my seventh year as an Instructional Coach and my second year at Pelham Road Elementary! I am SO excited to work with the wonderful teachers, staff, and students here!! Previously, I have been at Fountain Inn Elementary, where I taught 3rd, 5th and 2nd grade. Most recently I was at Mauldin Elementary where I taught 2nd grade for one year before moving into the Instructional Coach position for 5 years. I am looking forward to a wonderful year working with an incredible staff! Go Pelham Road All Stars!!
