General Information:

Conditioning & Tryout Sessions are closed to all parents and family members.

*If your parent drops you off, please have them drive through, drop you off and exit on to Devenger Road (They will need to take the driveway around the field to the exit) and if you are driving, please park along the fence.

- Enter ONLY off of Hudson Road, please do NOT enter the complex from Devenger Road.

- Please bring your own water bottle as we will NOT be providing water.

- Cleats and shinguards are MANDATORY.

- Each of you will be assigned a tryout number and will receive this on Monday, January 30th (number is to be pinned to the right side of your shorts).  It  is your responsibility to keep up with this number each day and to return it to me on Wednesday, January 31st when we finish.

- After Monday and Tuesday Tryout Sessions, please depart the facility quickly (and please make sure your parents are there to pick you up on time).

- Wednesday - each of you will receive a letter informing you of the result of your tryout.  Please do not open this letter until you have left the complex.

- Training will start on Thursday for those who make the JV and Varsity Teams.

- Any player who was not chosen for a spot on the JV or Varsity Team that would like more clarification will need to set-up an appointment with Coach Craig.

Evaluation Process:

The Three Main Areas we as a coaching staff will be evaluating you on:

1) Technical Ability

First Touch, Second Touch, Weight and Accuracy of Passes, Spatial Awareness when it comes to receiving the ball (Away from Pressure and Into Space) as well as the ability to finish opportunities.

2) Tactical Ability

General decision making such as When To Pass, When To Dribble, Movement Off The Ball, Timing of Runs, etc.

3) Physical Fitness

Conditioning sessions are NOT mandatory, but are highly encouraged so that you will be able to showcase your talents without being hindered by poor fitness.

4) Coachability / Sportsmanship

How do you react to constructive criticism?  Do you follow the instructions of the coaching staff or do you do your own thing?  How do you react to upperclassmen providing you peer feedback?  What is your behavior towards to your teammates?  Competitors?  Do you look to build each other up, or tear them down?

*I know many of you will be nervous...take a deep breath and just play.  I know it sounds easy, but once you get into it, you'll be fine!
