Coach Bessinger is currently a social studies teacher at Eastside. I began playing  soccer at the age of three and played organized soccer until my senior year of high school.  Throughout my time playing soccer I played for the South Carolina Challenge League with Coast FA, as well as played Varsity soccer for my high school all four years as a goalkeeper. Following high school, I wanted to focus on my education at Winthrop University, so I decided not to play college soccer, but kept myself involved by playing intramural league, club soccer for the school, and Sunday league. I also reffed to keep myself involved with the sport as well!

Katie Martin graduated from Erskine College in May of 2021 and was a 3-year starter for the flying fleet. During her time at Erskine, Katie played soccer at the NCAA Division II level as well as the NCCAA Division I level. Apart from playing soccer during her college career she coached the JV girls team at the local high school, Dixie, in Due West. Over the summer breaks she coached multiple soccer camps with Doug Allison at Furman University. After graduation, Katie began coaching at the club level and has worked with multiple age groups ranging from 4 years old to 16 years of age for the last three years at United FC. Katie joined EHS women's soccer in January of 2022 and coached the JV girls alongside Anna Turner.

Katie and her husband Dawson recently welcomed the newest addition to their family, Macie, in October of 2023. Together as a family they enjoy hiking, being with friends and family, and of course, all things related to soccer.
