Class overview

This year we will support our multilingual students in their language development through curriculum and activities that we will do together in 30-minute blocks throughout the week. Through the Lexia English lessons and hands-on activities, students will develop their listening and reading comprehension and their speaking and writing abilities in English.  2nd-5th grade students will also work through the levels in the Lexia English online app outside of our class sessions. They are welcome to do Lexia at home too! The Lexia English app can be found under Classlink on their school Chromebooks. 

  Students will be assessed on their Listening and Speaking when they enter the program (Kindergarten or new students) and all students in the program will be assessed on Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing each year during ACCESS testing.

As students progress in proficiency through 1- Entering, 2 - Emerging, 3 - Developing, 4 - Expanding, 5 - Bridging, and 6 - Reaching, we will target standards-based skills at each grade and level.
