Thank you for visiting my website! Let me share a little bit about myself. My family and I have lived here in S.C. for the past 18 years and we love it here! I have been married to my wonderful husband for 24 years and we have 4 amazing children. My oldest is heading off to college this year, My middle two are in high school one a freshman and the other a junior. My youngest attends Robert E. Cashion. Life is wonderfully busy!
I graduated from Brigham Young University with my BA in Early Childhood Education. After which I taught 1st grade for 4 years. I used my teaching skills while my children where young by planning preschool learning activities for them to do. I have also used my degree to help serve in my church as I have worked with children of all ages. During the time my children were in school, I become involved with PTA where I planned different events, fundraisers, and helped out where I could around the school. When my youngest entered Kindergarten, I came to work here at REC as the Parent Involvement Coordinator. When an opportunity came to be a STEAM Lab Teacher I couldn't say no, I was excited and ready to be back in a classroom.
My family and I enjoy spending time together by playing board games, doing puzzles, serving others and watching a good movie. We also like to take road trips, usually places not too far away. One of my favorite places to visit close by is the beach, Charleston is nice, but my heart loves the white sand in the gulf near Destin, FL. When not traveling, I find myself spending time with my kids, baking, exercising, cleaning (which I actually enjoy), and playing with our Boston Terrier Chaucer.
I believe a goal we should all have is to be a life long learner, as there are so many amazingly wonderful things to discover! I'm excited to get learn and grow along with the students here at Robert E. Cashion, it's going to be a great year!
