About Me

All about me

I am a proud product of Greenville County Schools, having attended Northwood Middle School and Riverside High School. I received my undergraduate degree in Sociology from the University of South Carolina, my Master's of Arts in teaching from the College of Charleston, and my Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Clemson University. I also earned my ESOL certification from Furman University.

The 2017 - 2018 school year marks my 16th year in education. I began my teaching career in Savannah, Georgia teaching first grade. Locally, I have taught K5 and 1st grade at East North Street Academy, taught ESL, Developmental Reading and Early Childhood Education to adult learners at Greenville Technical College and worked as an instructional coach at Gateway Elementary School.

On a more personal note, I am mom to the world's best 11 year old girl, Sophie. She is by far my greatest accomplishment, and my pride and joy! I enjoy cooking, baking, all sorts of arts and crafts, reading and taking my yellow lab Belle for long walks on the Swamp Rabbit trail.

I am so excited to be at A.J. Whittenberg Elementary School of Engineering and look forward to a great year of partnering together!
