Concert Band Polo
Concert Uniform
Our concert attire will be all black. Your child will have a black band polo and will also need black dress pants. All black shoes are required as well.
School-Owned Instruments
Students that play oboe, bassoon, tenor saxophone, baritone saxophone, baritone, tuba, and French horn have the option of using a school-owned instrument. There is a $50 maintenance/repair fee that is paid at the beginning of each school year. Students are expected to own their own mouthpiece and reeds.
There is a rental contract that will be sent home once the instrument is assigned to the student. At that time, you can send in a check with your student for the $50 rental fee made out to Rudolph Gordon School.
Instrument Security
All instruments will be stored in the instrument locker room during the school day. Students will drop their instruments off in the morning before school and pick them up before dismissal.
Student Expectations
1) Only touch YOUR instrument.
6) Practice at least 5 days during the week for 15 minutes. (not including class time)
7) Turn in all assignments on time.
8) Attend all required concerts and after school events.
9) Take your instrument home after school.
10) Have a great attitude and work hard!

Performances
Band is unique in that instruction and practice take place during the school day, but most performances occur outside of “normal” school hours. ATTENDANCE AT ALL PERFORMANCES IS REQUIRED!!! The concert is counted as a major grade.
