Greetings!! My name is Carl Wylie I am a veteran teacher with over 38 years serving students in Music Education. I have taught at the Middle School and High School level in South Carolina for 27 years, and have served the students of Greenville County for the last 19 years. I am a proud Veteran of the United States Army. I served for 7 years on Active Duty at Ft. Dix, New Jersey, Little Creek Amphibious Base in Virginia, Ft. Rucker, Alabama, and Heidelberg, Germany. I was an Army Bandsman, and toured Europe for 3 years as a professional performer.
I am a graduate of the University of South Carolina with degrees in Music Education and Performance (on French Horn).
I live in Greenville with my wife, Kim, a rescue dog (Murphy) and three rescue cats (Gizmo, Beastie, and Aria)
I was formerly the Director of Bands at Travelers Rest High School, where I taught Band, Piano, Music Appreciation, and International Baccalaureate classes. Most recently, I taught Elementary Music, Band, and Orchestra in the Greenville County Virtual Program. I have served as the Brass Instructor fot the Fountain Inn HS "Band Of Fury" for the last 4 years. While I loved my time at Travelers Rest, and the Virtual Program, I am delighted to be at Rudolph Gordon School and Fountain Inn High School, and excited for the opportunity to teach music!
