In Science of Technology (ST), students learn and apply physics, chemistry, and nanotechnology concepts during lab activities and projects where chemical reactions determine adhesion and stain resistance strength as well as how the physics of energy and motion in simple machines make work more efficient and effective. Students will connect and test electrical components to create circuits that result in specific, observable outcomes. Troubleshooting circuit builds helps students intuitively grasp electrical concepts as they use trial and error along with what they know to problem solve until they have a circuit that functions properly and safely.

*Earbuds/Headphones with minimum 4' cord for instructional videos (No Bluetooth, please)
*It is vital that students have their own headphones/earbuds for videos. Some videos are NOT closed captioned and it is difficult to hear when are playing out loud at different start times.

We may not complete all items on course outlines due to time constraints and/or students' knowledge of specific topics.
Please note that GTT courses are primarily hands-on/activity-based learning experiences. Lab resources are limited and are typically shared by students working in teams of 2-4. Students need to attend class daily for content instruction and completing activities. Alternate activities may or may not be possible depending on the topic. When available, make-up work may require more time to complete, because it is an alternative to hands-on learning.
Office Hours have not been built into my teaching schedule, but I will make every attempt to schedule a time to meet with students who need additional help or to make up work. Once I have my schedule for the year, I will try to accommodate student requests for help where they can bring their lunch to the lab and eat while we work. Students will need to make arrangements with me in advance to make sure I will be in the room since this is likely to be my planning time.
Due to the nature of the course, students may wish to wear old clothing for certain lab activities. I will let students know when lessons of this type will occur; lab aprons are also available.
