Erin's Law

Erin's Law, passed in South Carolina in 2014, requires schools to provide training in personal safety and abuse prevention for students in public schools. Lessons were developed by the S.C. Department of Education and are delivered to the students by the school counselor, usually between Thanksgiving and Winter breaks. The lesson in every grade emphasizes identifying a trusted adult whom the students can report to if necessary. Please see the SEL @ A.J. Whittenberg page for the Classroom Counseling schedule in your child's grade, which includes the week for the Erin's Law lesson.

Erin's Law materials will be available for preview in the front office the week of Thanksgiving.
