Problem Statement

We are concerned citizens who use the art of persuasion and involve the community to fight and raise awareness of human trafficking.

March 2018: Entry Events, including UNICEF video on human trafficking and Hidden No More video. Entry letter - Slavery Footprint & Reflection.

          • Benchmark 1: History chart on slavery. Personal diaries on slaves from different eras of history. Mapping exercise. Crash course questions. Interpret slave narratives.

April 2018: Benchmark 1: Complete documentary film questions. Columbian Exchange: create a menu, graphing & mapping exercise. Watch Food Chains documentary and complete fact sheet.

Speaker: SWITCH April 12th.

          • Benchmark 2 : Read the book "Sold" and participate in literature circles. Watch the film Sold and complete questions.

May 2018:

  • Final Project: Write letters to elected local, state or federal representatives (using Ethos, Pathos, and Logos) to convince them not to cut aid to stop human trafficking. Participate in Red Sand Project by partnering with SWITCH to raise awareness of human trafficking.
