Students observed with flashlights how light interacts with a variety of materials to learn about transparent, translucent, opaque, and reflective materials.

After observing, they wrote in their science journals what they observed.

Students created a cave out of boxes and "rescued" an animal using a flashlight and a mirror to learn about reflective properties of mirrors.

After creating caves, we drew a diagram to show what we learned from the rescue mission.

We traced our shadows early in the morning and observed where the sun was in the sky.

We checked later in t he afternoon and learned our shadows moved!
