About the Teacher

My name is Coach Castillo and I am in third year teaching Physical Education and this is my first year at Blue Ridge HIgh School. My first two years of teaching was at Greenville Early College and I am beyond exciting to be here at Blue Ridge. A little about myself I am originally from Long Island New York but I have been in the upstate of South Carolina for 17 years. I am graduate from Byrnes High School, I received my associate's in arts degree from Spartanburg Methodist College and my bachelors in communication from USC Upstate. Years after graduating from USC Upstate, I returned and received my bachelors in science for Physical Education. Before I was a teacher I worked in Sports Radio and Broadcasting, Which I still host a Saturday morning sports show for Fox Sports Spartanburg from 8-11 am, and I freelance as a sports commentator for Presbyterian College basketball on ESPN +. I love sports, specifically Baseball, Basketball, Football and Golf, my favorite teams are the Yankees, Jets, and Knicks. Other than sports my other hobbies would include spending time with my Wife Emily and my son Jaxson.
