Mauldin Middle School | 2025–2026
Welcome to Geometry with Statistics! This course follows the 2025 South Carolina College- and Career-Ready Mathematics Standards and is designed to help students build a strong foundation in geometric reasoning, formal proof, transformations, coordinate geometry, and data analysis. Students will engage in rigorous thinking, hands-on learning, and collaborative problem-solving to prepare for success in high school and beyond.
Students will cover:
Basics of Geometry: Points, Lines, Planes & Constructions
Reasoning, Proof & Parallel Lines
Triangles, Congruence, and Similarity
Transformations in the Coordinate Plane
Properties of Quadrilaterals
Circles, Arcs & Sectors
Volume & Surface Area of 3D Figures
Coordinate and Analytic Geometry
Intro to Statistics: Data Collection, Analysis & Inference

Students will follow the Mauldin Middle School Redo and Retake policy, including one retake on eligible major assignments if they have not met the success criteria for the assignment. No minors are available to be retaken.
Students in Geometry will not be given a Grade Floor Applied (GFA). If a student scores below a 50% on an assignment, the grade earned will be entered into the grade book. Assignments that are Not Handed In (NHI) will no longer be coded in BackPack as an NHI=50% but will be a 0% in the gradebook.
At the end of the quarter, if your student’s final grade is below a 50%, a grade floor will be applied on the report card resulting in a final quarter grade of 50%.
