The Story Starter
The Story Starter randomly generates 339,037,312,896 story starters. This idea generator can be used for short stories, novels, plays, movie scripts, or just for fun. It has been used by writers of all ages and teachers have used it in classrooms around the world.
The International Children's Digital Library
Has a collection of more than 10,000 books in at least 100 languages that is freely available to children, teachers, librarians, parents, and scholars throughout the world via the Internet. The materials included in the collection reflect similarities and differences in cultures, societies, interests, lifestyles, and priorities of peoples around the world. The collection's focus is on identifying materials that help children to understand the world around them and the global society in which they live.
WordSift
WordSift helps anyone easily sift through texts -- just cut and paste any text into WordSift and you can engage in a verbal quick-capture! The program helps to quickly identify important words that appear in the text. This function is widely available in various Tag Cloud programs on the web, but we have added the ability to mark and sort different lists of words important to educators. We have also integrated it with a few other functions, such as visualization of word thesaurus relationships (incorporating the amazing Visual Thesaurus® that we highly recommend in its own right) and a limited image-search feature. With just a click on any word in the Tag Cloud, the program displays instances of sentences in which that word is used in the text.
Know It All
Knowitall features a wide assortment of media content, created by South Carolina ETV with a variety of partners for preK-12. On Knowitall, as of August 8, 2017, you will find approximately:
3461 videos (Science in different languages)
1127 audio files
246 photo galleries and 1381 photos
125 interactives (some interactives are Flash, but we're converting many for mobile and tablets)
and the content continues to grow!
