I am looking forward to my fifth year teaching at Chandler Creek Elementary! In 2008, I graduated from Florida International University with a BA in Elementary Education and an endorsement in ESOL. I recently completed my Maters in Literacy with an ESOL focus through Clemson University.

My husband and I both grew up in Miami Florida. We became tired of the heat and the hurricanes and decided to head north. Through some friends of ours, we found Greenville, South Carolina. We visited one time and decided to move. We have been loving it here for 12 years. We have two very precious fur babies. Bear, is our 12 year old chocolate lab and Jovie, is our 8 year old yellow lab.

It was always my dream to become a teacher and I count it a blessing to be able to teach each day. Early in life I struggled in school. School was a challenge but with encouraging family, teachers who took time to teach me in a way I understood, and friends who would lend me a hand I overcame many academic challenges. I now have a bachelor’s degree from USC Upstate and a master’s degree in Instruction from Lesley University. I taught 2^nd grade for 9 years, and 3rd grade for 1 year. I really look forward to my fourth year as an ESL teacher at Chandler Creek!

I believe in my students. I believe that each child has their own set of gifts. Some children come in and the gift is easy to discover, others take time to uncover. I want to discover the students' gifts, teach them to work hard for their personal goals, and give them unforgettable learning experiences. Each child will have different needs and different ways of learning as a team (parents, administration, support staff, peers) I believe we can academically and socially move each child to more advanced levels.

I am happily married and have two precious sons, Titus and Roman. My husband enjoys writing and playing music. I also have a wonderful family who I enjoy spending time with. I have twin brothers who are very special to me. The children I teach always hear interesting stories about my wonderful family. I also enjoy cooking, hiking, swimming, lake activities, and traveling.
