Course Description

Math Strategies is a skills-based course designed to help students develop the critical thinking and problem-solving strategies needed to succeed in Algebra 1 and standardized assessments. Students will learn systematic approaches to decoding word problems, interpreting graphs and tables, setting up equations, and navigating multi-step problems with confidence. Through annotation methods and targeted practice, students will strengthen their ability to identify what problems are asking, eliminate trap answers, manage multiple constraints, and verify their reasoning. This course emphasizes building strategic habits – reading carefully, organizing information, and approaching complex problems methodically – while reinforcing foundations algebraic concepts in context.
