My name is Ms. Chelsea Coleburn and I teach Geometry CP and Honors. I'm in my ninth year teaching and I'm a Hillcrest alumna (c/o 2012). I'm a firm believer that every student is capable of learning mathematics as long as they practice having a growth mindset. I plan to build a community model with my classes to better support their learning. I know that we are going to have a fantastic and successful year!
I sponsor the Tabletop Club, a community where students are able to put their phones and other electronics aside to dive into their favorite board and card games. Here students not only have the opportunity to have fun, but also learn more about strategy and competition.

This semester, we welcome Ms. Allison Williams to our classroom as a student teacher. She is a student of Bob Jones University and studies Mathematics Education. She is set to graduate in May of 2026 and is looking forward to becoming a full-time math teacher this fall.
Throughout this semester Ms. Williams and I will work closely to support the students first, but also in learning first-hand what teaching is like. Some days I will lead the class, other times we will co-teach, and there are also lessons that Ms. Williams will take a lead.
I truly look forward to watching her develop her teaching style and philosophy. The students are also very excited to have two teachers this semester so they can have the best experience!
