Mrs. Wallace

Welcome to my first grade class!  

My name is Catherine Wallace.  I am a native of Greenville, SC.  I graduated from the University of South Carolina- Spartanburg with my B.A. in Elementary/ Early Childhood Education in 1998.  I have been teaching for 28 years.  I have taught first and fifth grades.  I have been blessed to be teaching at Chandler Creek for 25 years.  I love to teach!

My husband Page and I have been married for 30 years.  We have two adult boys- Will and Matt.  I also have four cats- Mr. Brownstone,  Snowball, Kobain, and Eve. 

When I am not at school, I enjoy hanging out with my husband and two boys.  We love to travel to the beach!   I love cooking, gardening, reading, and long walks.  A few of my favorite things are coffee, windchimes, candles, sunsets, and Christmas.  My favorite color is blue and my favorite scent is lavender.  My favorite restaurants are Chick-Fil-A, Panera, Bohemian Bull, and City Range. I am a HUGE Carolina Gamecocks fan!

I believe children learn through experiences so we will be doing a lot of hands on activities in class. I like to have fun, so I try to make learning as exciting as possible for my students.  I am so excited about all we will learn this year. I look forward to an amazing year of learning and discovery in first grade!
