The PSAT/NMSQT is a standardized practice exam designed to prepare students for college entrance exams (like the SAT and ACT). Taking the test gives students early feedback on their reading, writing, and math skills while connecting them to AP courses and college readiness resources.
10th Graders (2nd Year): Take the exam for free as a low-stakes opportunity to build test-taking confidence and establish a baseline score.
11th Graders (3rd Year): Can register for a small fee. In addition to invaluable practice before taking actual college application exams, 11th-grade scores serve as the sole entry point for the National Merit Scholarship Program.
