BIG RULE FOR WORK:

You may do pretty much as you like AS LONG AS you do not bother or cause a problem for anyone else in the known universe, including yourself.

This rule is effective in practically every situation I have encountered so far. Parents and other educators feel free to borrow this idea if you like! :)
