Mrs. Simila

Hi!

My name is Jody Simila and I am going to be your child's kindergarten assistant teacher. I graduated from Northern Michigan University with a Bachelor's degree in Special Education and Physical Education. I grew up in Michigan and married my high school sweetheart. We moved to South Carolina 19 years ago when we got married. The weather and work are what drew us to South Carolina. The people here in the Blue Ridge/Skyland community are THE BEST!!! 

My husband and I have 4 daughters. Our oldest graduated from Blue Ridge High School last year!! Our two middles are attending Blue Ridge High School this year and our youngest is attending here at Skyland. I served on the PTA at Skyland for 3 years. This will be my 3rd year as a kindergarten assistant. I have stayed home with my daughters and was very involved in everything that they do. 

In my free time (which isn't much) I enjoy spending every moment with my family and friends. We as a family love to hike, play games, visit grandparents that live close by, attend church, and most recently swim in our pool that we just put in!! I love to take pictures, shop and go on dates with my hubby as often as we can.

I am very excited for this school year!! Working with Mrs. Mills has been such a blessing. She was my youngest daughter's kindergarten teacher. I cannot wait to meet your sweet children and help them foster a love for learning!!
