As an extension of our Viewpoints Unit, an interdisciplinary unit on art, architecture, and monuments, 5th graders engaged in a Built to Last Challenge.  Students worked in teams to design a mini moving Statue of Liberty that serves an artistic purpose and can also hold up against strong winds.  We put each statue to the test of enduring an electric fan on low, medium, and high speeds and evlauted our results.
