My name is Jennifer Bertz, and I serve as a Challenge Teacher at Monarch and Greenbrier Elementary. This will be my 17th year teaching in Greenville County School District. My experience has ranged from Kindergarten to 3rd and 4th grade in the Charles Townes Center Gifted Program, a Reading Interventionist, and now a Challenge Teacher. Each experience has provided me with multiple opportunities to reach students at various learning levels.
I am passionate about partnerships with students, parents, and colleagues. I strive to support children in being who they are, reaching for their goals and dreams, while having SO much fun doing it. I also believe in the power of failure, “FAIL”- First Attempt In Learning, the motivator of "YET," the beauty of creativity, and inquiry-based learning.
I graduated from Clemson University in 2008 (Go Tigers!) with a B.A. in Elementary Education and earned a Masters in Gifted Education from Converse College in 2012. I am certified in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, and Gifted Education with a certification in Orton-Gillingham.
As a Clemson alumna, I enjoy cheering on my tigers during football season with my husband, Kevin, and son, Luke.
