6th Grade Choir (Beginning - Semester Only)
In this first year of middle school Choir, students will develop, incorporate, and master foundational principles of choral singing in all of the following categories: Creating Music, Music Theory, Vocal Production & Technique, Vowels & Articulation, Phrasing & Musical Interpretation, Music History, Sight-Reading & Sight-Singing, Choreography, Solo & Group Performance, and Making Real World Connections in Music. Students will perform a variety of musical styles from a variety of musical time periods during one live concert (attendance mandatory).
7th Grade Choir (Beginning/Intermediate - Year-Long Only)
In this second year of middle school Choir, students will develop, incorporate, and master intermediate principals of choral singing in all of the following categories: Creating Music, Music Theory, Vocal Production & Technique, Vowels & Articulation, Phrasing & Musical Interpretation, Music History, Sight-Reading & Sight-Singing, Choreography, Solo & Group Performance, and Making Real World Connections in Music. Students will perform a variety of musical styles from a variety of musical time periods during two live concerts (attendance mandatory).
8th Grade Choir (Intermediate/Advanced - Year-Long Only)
In this second year of middle school Choir, students will develop, incorporate, and master intermediate principals of choral singing in all of the following categories: Creating Music, Music Theory, Vocal Production & Technique, Vowels & Articulation, Phrasing & Musical Interpretation, Music History, Sight-Reading & Sight-Singing, Choreography, Solo & Group Performance, and Making Real World Connections in Music. Students will perform a variety of musical styles from a variety of musical time periods during two live concerts (attendance mandatory) and one choral festival.
