THE NEXT GENERATION OF STORYTELLERS

Art is powered by story. ARMES (Arts Reaching Elementary and Middle Schools) has a rich history of empowering Greenville's youngest artists to bring those stories to life through dance, theater, music, and visual arts. As of Fall 2018, ARMES also has space for students' whose voices are best expressed through the written word!

Creative Writing is the newest addition to the ARMES program for gifted elementary and middle school students. In this program, we provide a specialized environment for young authors in grades 3-8 to play with language and develop their writing practices. Chinua Achebe once said that a good writer "doesn't really need to be told anything, except to keep at it." ARMES Writing provides the community, resources, and time necessary for students to do just that: write, then write more, and write again.
