Adrienne Burris received her MA Writer/Teacher from Goldsmiths, University of London in 2015, following a BA in Writing and Publication Studies from Clemson University in 2010. During her time at Clemson, she also participated in a Jane Austen intensive at St. Peter's College (Oxford University) as a Duckenfield Scholar.

Adrienne was the Founding Director of Greenville Wordsmiths (2015-2020), an award-winning nonprofit empowering reluctant writers and children with special needs to self-identify as authors. Adrienne is also a Moth StorySlam winner, public speaker, and Fiction Editor of Emrys Journal. Her poetry has been published in a variety of journals, including Washington Square Review and Rogue Agent. She was awarded the inaugural "Fresh Voices in the Humanities" Award from SC Humanities in 2018.
