All About Me

I live in downtown Greenville with my husband Jeff and two children. Caleb is 22 years old and Lily Anne is 19 years old. This is my 20th year teaching at Simpsonville Elementary. I graduated from USC Upstate in May 2006. I enjoy reading and cooking. We have a Labordoodle that is extremely spoiled. I have always felt that my calling in life is to educate children. I feel extremely fortunate to have been given the opportunity to do something every day that I am so very passionate about. The students who enter my classroom are encouraged daily to become independent thinkers, creative problem solvers, and cooperative learners. My intent is for the knowledge and skills they gain during their first grade year to be ones they will carry with them throughout their educational journey. First grade is a year in your child's life in which he or she will develop greatly in numerous ways, which makes our time together that much more important and rewarding. I look forward to teaching your child during first grade this year! Working together as a team, I know it will be a wonderful experience.
