Welcome to 8th grade Science at Hughes Academy.  I am Ms. Hyde. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to teach your student. It is my goal to prepare your child for high school science and beyond. 

This is my 32nd year teaching at Hughes Academy and 37th year teaching 8th grade Science! 

I received my undergraduate degree and Master's of Science from the University of Mississippi.  My Science Specialists degree was awarded from Furman University.  

I have two daughters that attended Hughes. One lives nearby with her husband and baby daughter.  One lives abroad in Frankfurt, Germany.  Both have successful careers in finance and technology.   

I spend my out of school time walking my dog, attending church activities, reading books, cooking/baking treats, and enjoying fun times my family & friends.
