The best way to help your child become a better reader is to READ!

Read WITH your child and let your child read TO you.

Find out what interests them and find books that will "hook" them into wanting to read more. Don't limit reading to only books, the internet, signs, games, magazines, and menus. Create a space for reading- somewhere comfortable and quiet. Be PATIENT! No one learns to read overnight. Give continued praise and encouragement. Games and websites are great, but nothing produces more reading growth than READING!
