I can observe or handle evidence to ask questions and find answers to questions about the past.
I can ask questions such as, What was it like for people? What happened? How long ago?
I can use artefacts, pictures, stories, online sources and databases to find out about the past.
I can identify some of the different ways the past been represented.
I can describe historical events and significant people from the past.
I can recognise the reasons why people in the past acted the way they did.
I can use dates where appropriate.
I can use words and phrases such as a long time ago, recently, when my parents/carers were children, years, decades and centuries to describe the passing of time.
I understand the concept of our nation and monarchy.

We were very lucky to have an archaeological expert join us this week via Google Meet. Dr. Jon Kenny told us all about his historical research into our very own local Motte and Bailey Castle, Peel Hill. Why not have a look at his slide presentation to find out more.
In addition to this we had a very exciting, if slightly terrifying visitor to our playground....they also left behind a reminder of their visit.
Will it be a boy or a girl?
