Scholar Resources
These resources will be shared with scholars throughout the year. Feel free to reference them and use them to support your scholars.
List Building Resources
Wondering what resources are available to help you build a college list? This document has links to great websites that might help you search for college programs.
GHS Partnerships and Schools That Meet Full Need
We ask that our scholars apply to 2-3 "financial likely" schools. This list can be a great place to begin brainstorming options that we know can be financially feasible for our scholars.
We love the CTCL schools! If your scholar is looking for a small-school environment, this is a great place to begin your search.
Application Resources
Application and Essay Organizer
This spreadsheet can be used to help scholars organize the applications they plan to submit and plan out the essays they need to complete.
Who, What, and How: Letters of Recommendation
This has an explanation about letters of recommendation and a template to use when asking teachers, coaches, etc. to write a recommendation for you.
How to Add a Common App Advisor
The Common App will allow students to add up to three advisors to preview their application. They are required to add Sara and encouraged to add their mentor.
Other Resources
Some colleges will offer or require an interview with an admissions officer, alumnus, or student. These questions can help scholars prepare for what they might ask.
Full Cost of Attendance Scholarship Programs
These national, selective scholarship programs award up to the full cost of attendance.
We encourage our scholars to interact with admissions officers during their visits with Green Halo (and their high schools). This list of questions can be a place to start when it comes to thinking about what might be important for them to learn.
College Interview Thank You Templates
We want to make sure that our scholars thank admissions officers for their time. This document has a few templates they can use to send a thank you after a visit with Green Halo, one-on-one meeting, or visit to their high school.
Financial Aid Appeal Template
If you need to appeal your financial aid package, contact Sara for the appeal template.
