Kiss Me, Kate; Spring Musical 2015
Kiss Me Kate is the 1948 work of Sam and Bella Spewack (Boy Meets Girl, Once There Was a Russian, among others), with music and lyrics by Cole Porter (Anything Goes and Can-Can). Kiss Me Kate was actually inspired by the Spewack’s own marital woes and Bella initially worked on it solely with Cole Porter until monetary necessity forced the two to work together and finish the play. Consequently, this yielded two Tony awards for them: Best Musical and Best Author of a Musical. Kiss Me Kate is the SpeKiswack’s most well-known production and was produced for film in 1953, as well as revived in 1970, 1987, 1999, 2001, and 2012 in the cities of London and New York City (Taken from Wikipedia).
