Meet

Mrs. Beres

Hi and welcome! I’m Randy Beres!! I am so excited to begin this school year!! I started my educational journey in Albuquerque, New Mexico. We moved to Greendale 14 years ago and both of my kids have gone through the Greendale schools. Yep - I bleed green:) Now, my son just finished up his Masters at Emlyon in Paris, France and my daughter is starting her junior year at UW-Stevens Point.

I still have my fur babies to take care of. We have an 11 year old Yorkie mix named Spencer, a 2 year old Golden Labradoodle named Willow, and a cat who we thought was a boy when we named HER Mr. French:) oops!

Fifth grade is a pivotal year. There is a lot to learn and we are getting ready to transition to middle school. We will be spending a lot of time building community and learning that a mistake is only proof that you are trying! You and I are partners in your child's education. I know that you are trusting me with your most precious “possession” each day. I honor that and will always be in communication with you (for the good and even not so good things that come along).

This year has some special challenges that come with the pandemic that we are experiencing right now. We will be studying from home and be using our screens a lot, but even though it may look and feel different than it has in the past, we will still work hard and learn lots! I will be in communication weekly to ensure that everyone knows what is going on and that everyone is working to their potential. This is new for both the kids and me! We may have some bumps in the road as we all get used to this, but I am committed to ensuring that we will still have an engaging, wonder-filled year and they will all be ready for 6th grade in June!

They will find out early in the year that in our classroom, Beres All-Stars don't say ,"I don't get it." We say "I don't get it yet!!" :) :):) We will make commitments to create a safe, nurturing learning environment where everyone feels free to participate and no one is afraid to ask. Because we are online, I may miss a cue from your child that I would have been better able to detect in person. Maybe she was anxious, or he was afraid to say he didn't understand what needed to be done. If this happens PLEASE reach out to me so that I can meet with your child and make it better.

Please email me with any questions, concerns, and/or celebrations that you would like to share with me. My email is randy.beres@greendaleschools.org. To make it even easier, there is a direct link to this address on the Parent Communication page. I attempt (I am not always successful:) to have a work life balance so I will answer emails after school and will check again around 6PM - anything that comes after that may not be answered until the following morning, but I will respond.

I know we will have a great year and certainly a memorable one!

Looking forward to meeting everyone! Click on the slide show below to get to know a little more about me. This will also be in our Google Classroom for the kids to view.

Sincerely,

Randy Beres
