In this course, students will continue to build on the skills developed in the Level 1 Engineering course, and offers Unit Standards that are industry-level, and are requirements for Engineering trades apprentices. This means that credits earned are cross-credited if students enter into a relevant apprenticeship, or tertiary training towards such careers as general engineering, machining, tool making, fitting, engineering maintenance, fabrication, and marine engineering.

Mechanically cut fabrication materials under supervision
Internal Assessment, worth 8 credits
Unit Standard 21911 v3
Demonstrate knowledge of safety on engineering worksites
Internal Assessment, worth 2 credits

Demonstrate knowledge of mechanical fasteners used in mechanical engineering
Internal Assessment, worth 3 credits
Unit Standard 32055 v1
Demonstrate knowledge of and apply good work practices when performing simple fabrication operations in MaPS environment
Internal Assessment, worth 7 credits
