Hello! My name is Ms. Spinks, and I am a Family & Consumer Sciences (FCS) teacher at Green County High School. I am passionate about helping students develop real world skills that prepare them not only for graduation, but for life beyond high school.
I teach a variety of FCS courses including FCS Essentials, Money Skills, Relationships, Food & Nutrition, Culinary I & II, and oversee our schools, Dragon Express. My classes are designed to be hands on, engaging, and practical. Students learn through real life scenarios, projects, labs, and teamwork so they can apply what they learn outside the classroom.
In my classroom, I focus on building confidence, responsibility, communication skills, and professionalism. I believe students learn best when they feel supported, challenged, and respected. I emphasize accountability, life skills, and growth mistakes are part of learning, and improvement is always the goal.
Beyond the classroom, I am actively involved in FCCLA, helping reintroduce and grow our chapter at Green County High School. FCCLA gives students opportunities for leadership, community service, career exploration, and competition at the regional, state, and national levels. I love creating experiences that allow students to step into leadership roles and take pride in their accomplishments.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, my fiancé, and my dog. I am originally from Adair County, where I have lived my entire life. While Adair County will always be home, teaching at Green County High School has opened my eyes to a new community. I have enjoyed building connections with students, families, staff, and community members, and I value the opportunity to grow both personally and professionally within Green County.
I am excited to work with students and families throughout the year. Please feel free to reach out if you have questions, concerns, or need support communication and collaboration are important to me.
