Academic Performance: Regular attendance is crucial for students to keep up with their coursework and make academic progress. When students miss school, they can fall behind in their studies, which can negatively impact their grades and overall academic performance.
Building Habits: Good attendance habits formed in school can have a lasting impact and help prepare students for future success in the workplace.
Socialization: School provides opportunities for students to interact with their peers and build important social skills. Regular attendance helps students develop strong relationships with classmates and teachers.
Teacher-Student Relationships: Attending school regularly helps establish a positive relationship between students and teachers. This can lead to better communication, understanding, and support, which can have a positive impact on a student's academic and personal growth
Preparation for Life: School attendance is essential for preparing students for the future. It lays the foundation for good work habits, responsibility, and a strong work ethic, which are critical for success in the workplace.

Hello all, I am Moriah Alaniz, the Greeley Dream Team Program advisor at ECA. I am in my fourth year at ECA and my seventh year with the Dream Team Program. The Greeley Dream Team is a federally funded pre-collegiate program that creates educational opportunities for limited-income, first-generation college students while providing access to higher education. The core of the Dream Team Program focuses on the relationships built between the advisor and their students to prepare students for a successful transition to a two or four-year university. During high school, we are another layer of support for students to help them succeed. Services are tailored to each individual student. Some services provided include but are not limited to college awareness & campus tours, financial aid & admission application assistance, grade & credit monitoring, and life skills & educational workshops. I will meet with students on an individual basis with the frequency depending on their needs. They also have opportunities to participate in monthly group activities through workshops. After high school graduation, I work with our students for a minimum of two additional years as they become part of the Alumni Program. I would love to know how I may help you support your student. I can be reached at malaniz3@greeleyschools.org.

Club Spotlight: Chess Club
The Chess Club meets twice a week during lunch for the love of the game of chess. We welcome all kinds of players, even those who have never played before. We have books to help new players learn basic strategies and we encourage people to play often this deceptively simple game.
