What is seesaw?
Seesaw is a platform for student engagement and learning. Teachers can empower students to create, reflect, share, and collaborate. Students “show what they know” using creative tools to take pictures, draw, record videos and more to capture learning in a portfolio. Teachers find or create activities to share with students. Families can view their child's work and leave comments and encouragement as well as send and receive communication from teachers.

All PreK-2 students are using Seesaw as the primary platform for family communication and delivery of instructional materials.
Families NEVER create a student account.
NEW for 2021-22!! K-2 students should always sign in to Seesaw through Classlink. GCSD K-2 students do NOT use any CODES to sign in to Seesaw however the first time signing in on some devices they may need to click 'I'm a Student', then 'Sign in with Google'. PreK students should receive different instructions from their teachers since they are not using GCSD Chromebooks.
Families always connect either using the Seesaw app (on a mobile device) or at the site: https://app.seesaw.me and by clicking “I’m a Family Member”. It is best if families do NOT use their student's GCSD Chromebook to connect to the Family account but rather use a personal device. If, however, they must use their student’s Chromebook they need to SIGN OUT of the account before their student can sign in to their student account. See below for how to sign out of Seesaw accounts. If you need to connect as a family member, contact your child's teacher for an invitation.
In the Family account, family members can add voice comments to their student's work, text comments to their student's work, or attachments and messages to teachers, but CANNOT DO ACTIVITIES OR ADD POSTS TO THEIR STUDENT’S JOURNAL.

How to Connect to Seesaw as a Family Member
Families will receive an email or paper invitation with a QR code.
When family members receive an email it will appear directly in their personal inbox. Family members will need to choose to connect to their child’s journal by clicking 'Connect to ###'s Journal'.
Family members will be prompted to sign in or create a new account.
Paper Invitation with QR Code
When family members receive a QR Code, they can use their device’s camera or the camera in the Seesaw App to connect to their child’s account.
When family members open their camera, they can take a picture of the QR code. Then will be prompted to open app.seesaw.me in Safari on their device.
Once family members confirm the connection, they will be prompted to sign in or create an account.
