So you have decided to apply to university. The process for doing this is done entirely on line using the Website: UCAS.com.
The process usually begins after the summer break and all applications need to be completed by christmas.
If you are wishing to apply for Medicine, Veterinary Medicine or Dentistry then applications need to be completed by the October break.
If you wish to apply for Music then there may be a seperate application completed through the UCAS Conservatoire website.
This entire process is supported by your Guidance Teacher with time being allocated on a Tuesday afternoon however there is a significant responsibilty on you to complete this in you own time/study.
The website will explain about some of the key parts on how to apply as well as give you links to important documents that you need to use for your application.
If you have decided to apply for college courses, this will be done directly to each college. The application process normally starts sometime in January and is more flexible on closing dates. You may apply to more than one college for your chosen course.
Personal Statement
As part of any application, whether it be for college or university you will need to complete a personal statement. This too is supported by your Guidance Teacher however it needs to be all your own work and be specific to you and the courses that you wish to apply for.
