Hello Innovators!
Here we are at the beginning of Week 3 already. I know this subject may have you feeling a bit out of your comfort zone, and that is exactly how your should be feeling! The structure of the course brings new ways of approaching your studies, it is a new way of teaching for me too, where I become a facilitator rather than a lecturer. We're learning through this process together.
That said, on reflection, I feel that a little bit of structure might help us. I have put together the beginnings of a flow chart (left) for your first task. Remember that although a lot of these tools are not directly assessed, they will help to provide better focus and structure in the deliverables (Value Proposition Canvas, Experiment Board), and you will evaluate your approach in utilising these tools to come to an outcome. What worked well? What didn't? What might you do differently in the future? It is all part of the journey of problem identification. You do not need to use them all...but if you are feeling a little lost, this might be a tidy go-to document to keep you progressing.
Further, I am able to confirm some due dates, again some structure to give you a target deadline to meet.
Stage 1:
Group Presentations will occur Friday, Week 4 (19th Feb)
Evaluations are due Friday, Week 5 (26th Feb)
Stage 2:
Phase 1 and Phase 2 due Friday, Week 6 (5th March)
Evaluations due Friday, Week 7 (12th March)
Wednesday 28th January - Week 1 | Term 1 | 2021
Welcome to 2021! Thank goodness it is a new year, hopefully this year runs a LOT smoother than last year!
That said, the challenges presented to business by a global pandemic make for very interesting Business Innovation case studies!!
Business Innovation will be a composite class at Grant High School in 2021, comprised of both Stage 1 and Stage 2 students. I welcomed Stage 2 students in a previous post on Tuesday 1st of December, as part of the Stage 2 Introductory lessons in 2020 - see below. Stage 2 students who were absent for those lessons should read that post and follow the instructions provided now. Stage 2 students who completed those steps in 2020, can revisit the Google Classroom and complete the Student Goals survey.

Welcome to Business Innovation!
The Stage 1 Business Innovation course was brand new to SACE in 2020, and taught for the first time at Grant High School by Mrs Houston. Thus, it is brand new for me this year, so be patient with me as I learn with you. I have a lot of experience with the old SACE Business and Enterprise course, and this course appears to be a dynamic and exciting iteration of its predecessor.
As a start, I'd appreciate you performing the following tasks:
Visit turnitin.com and ensure you have an account. If you don't have an account, please set one up. The class id is 27653498 and the enrollment key is success
Join our Google Classroom, the class code is ibqxdgv and complete the Student Goals survey
Navigate this website to read up on the requirements of the Stage 1 course.
We will be together on Line 4 for the semester; that's Tuesday Lesson 1, Wednesday Lesson 4, and Friday Lesson 3. Please arrive on time, equipped with a charged laptop and any other materials you need to support your learning.
Have a great first week back!

I regret that I can't meet you all throughout your introductory lessons, but rest assured I am busy participating in professional development that will help me be much better prepared to facilitate this course and support you in your learning journey. Please be kind to Mr Clarke as he introduces you to the course.
Before we begin, it would be a great idea for you to familiarise yourself with the content of this site, packed full of information about the content and assessment requirements of the course. I'd also appreciate you performing the following tasks:
