6.4.1 Use your critical thinking skills as you learn the components of a functioning food web.

Level 4: Research a population of organisms that has increased or decreased and the implications on the stability of the food web.

Standard 6.4.2

Proficiency Level 2/3/4 dependent upon depth and complexity of responses.

Standard 6.4.3

Proficiency Level 2/3/4 dependent upon depth and complexity of responses.

Write an explanation of how patterns observed in interactions between animals in an ecosystem can change depending on populations and the role people can play in these interactions.

Examples: Wolves in Yellowstone National Park, Lions in the African savanna or research to find other situations.
Evaluation of Standard 6.2 Your written explanation should be at least on paragraph and include evidence from at least one source you analyzed. It should also accurately describe interactions between competition, predation, and mutualism in both Yellowstone and the savannas across Africa.Evaluation of Standard 6.3 Make a model of a food web showing how energy flows in either Yellowstone or African savanna ecosystem. This model should show how interconnected each piece of the system is. Using your model construct an explanation of how the ecosystem might be affected if various pieces went missing. This can be in written format. You must also create a presentation either in person or digitally, using Flipgrid or Google Slides (Flipgrid will be available when assigned).

Proficiency level (2/3/4) dependent upon depth and complexity of response.

Your Flipgrid or Google Slides presentation incorporates Speaking and Listening Standards 6.4 and 6.5.

6.4 Level 4 Proficiency:Present multiple claims and findings, consistently sequencing ideas logically and using pertinent descriptions, facts, and details to accentuate main ideas and themes; use appropriate eye contact, adequate volume, clear pronunciation and expressive delivery.6.5 Level 4 Proficiency: Include a variety multimedia components and complex visual displays in presentations to clarify information.

Writing and Science

Standard 6.1 Argumentative Writing

Science 6.4.4 Construct an argument supported by evidence...
