We will be adding content, video, and find "influencers" to build your outreach list. You will also have the opportunity to receive industry certifications.
Google AdWords Certification - Numerous digital marketing companies claim that Google Adwords Certification is one of the most valuable marketing certifications any digital marketer can obtain.
HubSpot Online Certification Courses - For a great introductory course, consider Content Marketing Certification. The course is just over four hours of 20 - 30 minute lessons with a five question quiz at the end of each lesson. You are then given a 2 hour test at the end of each of the lessons to certify you in that area.
Digital Garage from Google - 26 topics with four to seven lessons in each area to master digital marketing.
American Marketing Association - This resource costs $349 for non-members to take a practice digital marketing certification exam. You will be able to:

Course Description
Digital Marketing provides an introduction to the basic concepts and principles of marketing in the digital world. While completion of Marketing 1 is helpful, it is not required. This course will provide practical experience in, but not limited to: eCommerce, media planning, branding, online advertising, display advertising, digital campaigns, social media marketing, and mobile media.
Classroom instruction will include individual, small and large group discussion, and activities. Student success will be evaluated based upon performance on tests, assignments, and projects.
Textbook/Resources
We will be using the World Wide Web as our main resource. We will also be using Marketing Strategies: A Guide to Social Media Marketing and Digital Marketing as well as completing a Mimic Social Situation.
Videos
Short video clips will be viewed in class as well as possible full length videos. Signing the disclosure gives your student permission to view movies rated G, PG, or (seldom) PG-13.
Grading
Students will contract for their grade during the first week of the term by selecting the grade they wish to earn.
Grade A = Completion of all assignments and activities with 85% or higher. In addition to completing ONE industry certification* per term and ONE of the following:
Grade B = Completion of all assignments and activities with 80% or higher. Complete ONE of the following:
Grade C = Completion of all assignments and activities with a minimum of 80%.
*Available industry certifications include Content Marketing, Email Marketing, Inbound Marketing, and Google Analytics. Additional options will be offered when made available.
Citizenship
Citizenship Policy follows district guidelines. Please have absences excused within 5 school days and less than 3 tardies. We are preparing students for careers and to be responsible adults.
FBLA or DECA- Students will have the opportunity to participate in the business and/or marketing club to apply their knowledge and skills gained from taking business and marketing classes. FBLA or DECA experiences include competitions, leadership conferences and seminars, social activities, and more. Membership dues are $15 if students choose to participate.
Electronics
Since this course is technology heavy, we will be on devices constantly. Students will need access to social media platforms when we cover that unit. Students will be expected to use their technology appropriately because we will be using technology tools almost daily.
By reading the Strands and Standards document below, you will be able to see the topics we will be addressing in class. This document gives you the what, but not the how. In Business and Marketing classes, we love learning by a variety of methods; including practice, research, projects, real life application, and online practice games.
