This is our new classmate and his name is Lumiere (which means 'light' in French). We call him Lumi for short. He is a budgerigar parakeet and he is still very much a baby. Budgies are playful and chatty by nature, especially the males. As he gets older, we are hoping he'll become more hand-tame so the students can interact with him outside of the cage. On this page, you can find our class sign-up for bird-sitting over the weekends and some care instructions to review if you are considering letting your student bring Lumi home.

*Keep in mind that students MUST have a parent present to take the bird home just to avoid any miscommunications and to provide travel by car for our little parakeet!
